On 23 and 31 July 2026, ARZ, in collaboration with the Integrated Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (IAHTU), Goa Police, conducted specialised training sessions on Advanced Investigation of Human Trafficking Cases of Women and Girl Children for Commercial Sexual Exploitation at Safety GO – Institute Hall, Altinho.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Juliana Lohar and was conducted in two separate batches for 38 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) and Lady Police Sub-Inspectors (LPSIs). The sessions aimed to strengthen the capacity of law enforcement officers to undertake comprehensive, intelligence-led and victim-sensitive investigations into human trafficking cases.

The training focused on understanding trafficking as an organised and interconnected criminal network rather than an isolated crime scene. Officers were introduced to key stages of investigation, including pre-rescue intelligence gathering, evidence collection, rescue and post-rescue procedures, victim protection, investigation and documentation, financial investigation, digital evidence collection, and prosecution.

A major highlight of the training was the practical exercise “The Room Tells the Story.” Officers were presented with an image of a searched spa and massage parlour and given a limited time to identify potential evidence and clues. The activity encouraged participants to look beyond obvious evidence and identify phones, SIM cards, cash, UPI QR codes, room keys, registers, receipts, identification documents, and other physical and digital clues that could help establish trafficking networks and financial linkages.

The sessions also included a review of relevant legal provisions and a rapid-fire quiz on common investigative mistakes, reinforcing the importance of timely seizure and preservation of evidence, CCTV footage, digital records, and financial trails. The training enabled police officers to strengthen their understanding of evidence-based investigation, digital and financial intelligence, victim-centred procedures, and effective prosecution of trafficking cases. The interactive methodology provided officers with practical tools that can be applied during investigations and field operations.
