ARZ Celebrates National Girl Child Day, with Children from slums of Mormugao Taluka
Anyay Rahit Zindagi (ARZ) observed National Girl Child Day with great enthusiasm at the municipality hall in Janata Vachnalaya. The event, held on January 24, 2025, aimed to promote awareness about girls’ rights, education, health, and safety.
The program commenced with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, including Chief Guest Sayonara Telles Laad, Former President of Children’s Court, & Former Member Secretary, Goa State Legal Service Authority. The event also honored the presence of Mr. Manohar Ankalgi, Bardez Block Resource Person, and Ms Nuthan Vasu Nirawdekar, Para Legal Volunteer, Vasco.
The highlight of the event was the impressive performances by children from different slum areas of Mormugao Taluka. The young talents showcased their skills through skits, dances, poems, and speeches, all centered around the theme “Empowering Girls for a Brighter Future.”
The judges announced the winners, and the Chief Guest and judges distributed prizes to the deserving children.
The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, marking a sweet end to a meaningful event.
ARZ’s initiative to celebrate National Girl Child Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of girl child empowerment and to promote a positive change in society.
Consultation To Combat Sex Trafficking From Delhi To Goa
Arz, NGO in collaboration with the Goa State Commission For Women & SPID organised one day consultation in Delhi to Combat Sex Trafficking from Delhi to Goa.
The consultation was inaugurated by Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson, NCW and Smt. Sangeeta Yadav, Hon. Rajya Sabha member from UP.
During the consultation NCW Chairperson assured different stakeholders working towards combating trafficking that she will follow up regarding Anti Trafficking bill pending in the parliament and get all the anti Trafficking organisation on one platform to enable easy service delivery.
ARZ organizes series of Workshops, titled, “Empowering Equality : Understanding GENDER & STRENGTH
These workshops were organised for the children from various slum communities in the Mormugao District of Goa.
The programs were graced by the esteemed presence of Shri. Santosh Desai (Panch Member), PSI. Nikhil Desai from Verna Police Station, Shri. Ameya Anil Chopdekar (Councillor), and Shri. Sonu Kargaokar, police officer from Vasco Police Station
Thanks to the Government Schools, Police Department and Panchayat for their support to organize the program.
