The 19-year-old client is the daughter of a single mother who dropped out of school at a young age. Her mother is a sex worker and a heavy alcohol addict. The client’s mother’s friend sexually abused and kidnapped her, trafficking her to Nepal. She was then rescued by the police and the ARZ team.
The client suffers from trauma and PTSD due to the sexual abuse and kidnapping. She has suffered from a lack of self-esteem and self-confidence and had an unstable family environment.
Today, the ARZ team provides counseling and support to her and helped her enroll in a hostel in Margao to provide a safe and stable environment. They also encouraged her to continue her education.
Despite facing hurdles and unimaginable challenges in life, she has cleared her SSC exams on her first attempt with good scores and has developed confidence and self-esteem.
