The Women Police Station, Panaji, in collaboration with the **Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, organized a specialized training programme on Women’s Safety for investigators and prosecutors at **Goa Institute of Management Hall, Altinho, Panaji. The sessions were held on 12th February and 19th February 2026.
The training was conducted by Ms Juliana Lohar, who served as the Resource Person. The sessions focused on the psychological and social impact of commercial sexual exploitation and the practical handling of victims of sex trafficking. Officers were introduced to trauma-informed approaches, emphasizing the need for sensitivity and understanding when interacting with survivors.
Through real-life case studies and scenario-based discussions, participants explored the stages of trauma experienced by survivors and examined key legal provisions under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA) and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The sessions also highlighted the importance of timely rescue operations, proper legal procedures, and a survivor-centred response to trafficking cases.
